The game tasks for each game you play are very clearly stated at the top of the screen and once you’ve completed the task assigned, you will then win the game! Even though you are given limited moves in every game you play, the match-3 games in Clockmaker is still rather easy to play. Some examples of game tasks include the easier ones, such as making a certain number of matches or breaking an X number of gems of a certain color to collecting all clock hands and clearing all golden tiles. Once you’ve completed a quest, another will immediately takes its place, so you’ll always have something to do in Clockmaker! Furthermore, Clockmaker is very unique in the sense that it constantly changes the game tasks for the match-3 games you play. There is even a quest that seems more like an accumulative-type challenge whereby you’ll have to, for instance, collect 100 red gems. The quests will guide you to eventually lifting the curse from the town. Most quests involve playing match-3 games, collecting the quest items required and unlocking a new location. There are also quests that you can complete in Clockmaker. Higher levels equal to a higher chance of getting an item as well as more gold and experience points earned. Instead, by playing matches repeatedly at a particular location, you will level up that location. Unlike any other match-3 game, there are no stars for you to earn in Clockmaker. You can also get the materials you need by asking friends or buying using rubies (premium currency). Once you’ve collected the necessary items, you can use them to unlock new locations by removing the nasty spell the clockmaker has placed over the location. However, if you matched 5 gems together in a T or L-shape, you’ll get the star gem instead! Star gems are really powerful as well and are able to clear both the row and column of gems that they are on! For match-5s, well it depends how you match them up. To play, you just need to line up 3 or more gems of the same color by swapping them around using your cursor to remove them from the layout!
